Gary Lineker thinks one of Nottingham Forest’s best players has significantly improved under head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Reds overcame a 1-0 deficit to defeat Sheffield United on Saturday, earning a crucial three points.

Ryan Yates scored his first Premier League goal, and then Calum Hudson-Odoi scored twice.

With two games remaining, Forest needs just a point to secure a spot in the playoffs for another season.

Following the match, Lineker praised a Forest player who, in his opinion, has excelled this season.

Gary Lineker believes Nuno has made one Nottingham Forest player better.

Espirito Santo at Forest hasn’t had it all sunshine and roses, and at the conclusion of the season, he’ll have to make some choices.

But he has also accomplished some wonderful things at Forest, and his initial hand wasn’t exactly the finest one.

After the 3-1 victory in South Yorkshire, Lineker was analyzing the game and believed that the head coach had made a significant improvement to one player.

“It’s fantastic to see Callum Hudson-Odoi realize the promise we all felt he had when he was younger at Chelsea and he had that horrific injury,” he remarked on the podcast The Rest is Football.

It wasn’t a good one. It has taken him some time, and I overheard him state in an interview that he would be better off leaving London and focusing solely on thinking and experiencing football.

“He was exceptionally intelligent. Since Nuno Espirito Santo entered the game, in particular, genuine faith in any player has made a huge impact

With Hudson-Odoi, Forest has struck gold.

Given that Hudson-Odoi seems to have been around for a very long time, it’s difficult to imagine he is only 23 years old.

Despite being a bit of a slow starter this season, he has now netted seven goals.

His two goals against Sheffield United perfectly encapsulated his game, as Hudson-Odoi enjoys cutting inside and attempting long-range shots.

Hudson-Odoi was able to join Forest for a mere £3 million, which is undoubtedly excellent value for the money.

Over the past two years, the Reds and their recruitment strategy have been under heavy fire, and some of that criticism has been warranted.

Finding additional players with the same caliber as Hudson-Odoi will be difficult if Forest is to remain in the Premier League this year.

Hudson-Odoi will continue to receive development from the Reds, and there’s now a very high potential that he may return to his peak with Forest.
