New York Knicks Extend Winning Streak to Nine Games with 119-103 Victory Over Utah Jazz
Josh Hart Shines with Back-to-Back Triple-Double Performance
The New York Knicks are on a scorching run, securing their ninth consecutive win with a dominant 119-103 victory over the Utah Jazz. Josh Hart delivered an outstanding performance, recording his fourth triple-double of the season. Hart finished with 15 points, 14 rebounds, and 12 assists, marking his second consecutive triple-double—a rare feat only five players in Knicks history have achieved. The last time a Knicks player managed back-to-back triple-doubles was Michael Ray Richardson in 1981.
Karl-Anthony Towns Dominates the Paint
Karl-Anthony Towns was unstoppable in the paint, posting 31 points and 21 rebounds, further cementing his status as the league’s top rebounder with 439 boards this season. His thunderous one-handed dunk over two Jazz defenders in the fourth quarter, which gave the Knicks a commanding 99-83 lead, was a statement play, signaling that the game was all but over. The Knicks controlled the fourth quarter, outscoring Utah 32-24, with a 10-0 run to open the period.
Knicks’ Depth Shines Amid Injuries
Despite being without their starting point guard Jalen Brunson (calf injury) and Miles McBride (hamstring injury), the Knicks’ depth proved critical in the win. Veteran Cameron Payne stepped up in his 66th career start, contributing 8 points and 9 assists, while rookie Tyler Kolek, who had an impressive 36 points and 11 assists with the Westchester Knicks earlier in the day, made his mark in 12 minutes of play.
“We have great depth. We’ve got guys that can score the ball. It just shows the difference between last year and this year.” – Josh Hart
Knicks’ Solid Defense and Efficient Offense
Although the Jazz briefly led 18-8 in the first quarter, the Knicks responded with a 16-4 run to take control. They held the lead for the remainder of the game, never allowing Utah to regain momentum. Mikal Bridges added 27 points, while OG Anunoby chipped in with 22. Bridges’ three-pointer with 1:22 left stretched the Knicks’ lead to 117-97, their highest of the night.
On the offensive end, the Knicks shot a scorching 55.3% from the field, while the Jazz struggled at 40.6%. New York also dominated the paint, outscoring Utah 70-50 inside.
Jazz Struggle Despite Strong Individual Performances
The Jazz had some impressive individual efforts, with Colin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson each scoring 25 points off the bench, and Lauri Markkanen contributing 16 points and 10 rebounds. However, these performances weren’t enough to overcome the Knicks’ all-around team effort.
Knicks Look Ahead to Oklahoma City Thunder
With nine straight wins, the Knicks continue to build momentum. They now head into their next challenge—a road game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who currently sit atop the Western Conference standings.
Next Up: The Knicks (24-10) travel to Oklahoma City to face the Thunder on Friday night at 8:00 p.m.
