Paul Warne and company have a difficult challenge ahead of them if they want to reestablish themselves as a dominant Championship team. They have several excellent players in their ranks, such Eiran Cashin and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, but this summer they need to recruit some new players.
Now, a possible target has surfaced thanks to a recent Alan Nixon piece on Patreon.
According to him, Derby County “may” enter the race for Viktor Johansson, the goalie for Rotherham United.
After yet another great season, the Swede is expected to depart the demoted Millers this summer. According to Nixon, the fee is £900,000 for this summer, although rumors about a release clause in his contract have persisted.
Although Sheffield United and Stoke City had previously been connected and are brought up once more in this new rumor, the Rams might very well enter the fray after being promoted.
Destined for a move

Derby County would be making a statement and sending a clear message if they signed him. But given his price tag, fellow supporters Sheffield United or Stoke City may find him to be a more realistic signing.
